Worktop Refrigerator 48-Inch vs 60-Inch: Size Guide

Senlis’s refrigerated worktops come in one published size: 1800×600×800 mm, roughly 71 × 24 × 31.5 inches. That is about 11 inches wider than a 60-inch slot and 23 inches wider than a 48-inch one. A true 48-inch or 60-inch unit is available only as a custom-size OEM order, quoted per project.

What the “48” in a 48-inch worktop actually measures

In North American foodservice listings, “48-inch” and “60-inch” name the nominal exterior width of the cabinet. It is a slot size, not a capacity rating.

The number tells you nothing about three things buyers often assume it covers:

  • Depth and height. These vary by manufacturer and model. Two 48-inch units from different brands can differ in depth by enough to block a walkway or overhang a cook line.
  • Usable interior length. Insulation walls, the compressor compartment and door frames all eat into the exterior width.
  • Installed footprint. Door swing, drawer pull-out and rear ventilation clearance sit outside the cabinet dimensions.

The most common sizing mistake we see in import briefs is a single number: “we need a 48-inch worktop.” A distributor replacing an existing unit needs the depth, the height and the clearances of that slot as well, because a custom build is engineered to all of them at once.

Inch-to-metric comparison: 48″, 60″ and the 1800 mm catalog unit

Dimension 48-inch slot 60-inch slot Senlis catalog worktop
Width (mm) ≈ 1219 ≈ 1524 1800
Width (in) 48.0 60.0 ≈ 70.9
Profundidad Varies by model; read the spec sheet of the unit being replaced Varía según el modelo 600 mm (≈ 23.6 in)
Altura Varía según el modelo Varía según el modelo 800 mm (≈ 31.5 in)
Width difference vs Senlis catalog Catalog unit is 581 mm (≈ 22.9 in) wider Catalog unit is 276 mm (≈ 10.9 in) wider n/a

Two practical readings of this table:

  1. The catalog unit will not fit a 48- or 60-inch slot. No shelf or trim adjustment closes a 276 mm gap.
  2. If your project is a new kitchen layout rather than a like-for-like replacement, the 1800 mm unit can be planned in from the start, which avoids custom engineering entirely.

Height deserves a separate check. At 800 mm, the worktop surface sits at about 31.5 inches. If it must line up flush with adjacent counters or prep equipment, compare that figure against the existing line height before you choose between stock and custom.

SLS refrigerated worktop specifications (catalog line)

All six models in the line share the 1800×600×800 mm cabinet. They differ by temperature function and cooling configuration.

Series Models Temperature function Sistema de refrigeración
GF series SLS-GFC01 (chill) · SLS-GFD01 (freeze) · SLS-GFS01 (dual-temperature) Chill 2–8 °C; freeze versions listed at −15 to 0 °C or −18 to 0 °C; dual-temperature version Copper tube + air-cooled
GZ series SLS-GZC01 · SLS-GZD01 · SLS-GZS01 Chill, freeze and dual-temperature versions Refrigeración por tubo de cobre

Shared features across the line:

  • External dimensions 1800 × 600 × 800 mm
  • Thickened stainless steel worktop
  • Auto defrost (heated center beam or automatic defrost, depending on model)
  • Digital control panel
  • Certifications: CE, RoHS, ISO 9001

Two freeze ranges appear in the catalog (−15 to 0 °C and −18 to 0 °C). When requesting a quote, name the exact model and confirm which range it is built to, especially if your menu includes items stored at or near −18 °C.
Not yet published for this line: internal dimensions, net volume, power draw and noise level. We do not estimate these. Request them with your quotation.

How to brief a custom 48″ or 60″ worktop order

Senlis lists cabinet size and layout as an OEM/ODM option across its product range. A custom width is an engineering request, not a catalog variant, so the quality of your brief decides how fast and how accurately it can be quoted.

  • Measure the slot, not the old unit. Record the clear width between fixed obstacles, the usable depth (wall to front edge of the line), and the required height to the worktop surface.
  • Record clearances. Note door swing space in front, and any gap available at the rear and sides for ventilation. Ask the factory for the minimum ventilation clearance of the proposed design and check it against your measurements.
  • Choose the temperature function. Chill (2–8 °C), freeze, or dual-temperature. On a narrower 48-inch cabinet, ask how the compartments and doors would be divided before committing to dual-temperature.
  • Specify electrical requirements. Voltage (110 V, 220 V or 380 V options) and plug standard (US, EU or UK). For a North American destination, state both explicitly.
  • Select the refrigerant. Senlis offers R290, R134a and R600 as configuration options. Under ASHRAE Standard 34 safety classification, R290 and R600 are hydrocarbons in the A3 (higher flammability) class, while R134a is A1. Your destination market’s rules on refrigerant type and charge should drive this choice.
  • List the certifications your buyers require. Senlis’s documented certifications are CE, RoHS and ISO 9001. If your market needs anything else, raise it at step one, not at shipment.
  • Add branding and documentation. Exterior color, logo placement, packaging and user-manual language are all customizable.
  • Request the engineered spec sheet before sampling. A custom width changes interior volume, compressor and evaporator sizing, and power draw. None of these can be read off the 1800 mm catalog unit by scaling.

That last point is the edge case most often missed. A 60-inch cabinet does not simply hold 60/71 of the catalog unit’s contents with the same refrigeration system. The cooling system has to be matched to the new cabinet, so treat every performance figure for a custom size as unconfirmed until the factory issues it.

Stock US units vs a custom metric build: the real trade-offs

Compared with US-branded 48- and 60-inch worktops sold from stock through North American foodservice retailers, a custom OEM build from a metric-standard factory changes what you control and what you wait for.

Where the OEM route gives you more:

  • Your own brand on the cabinet, packaging and manual
  • Voltage, plug and refrigerant chosen for the destination market
  • One supplier across several cold-equipment categories, from beverage coolers to island freezers, all available with OEM options
  • Production capacity for volume orders: the Shandong factory produces more than 400 units per day

Where it costs you:

  • No off-the-shelf 48″ or 60″ model. Every unit at these widths is an engineering project.
  • Lead time, MOQ and payment terms are not published. Plan your launch around a confirmed quote, not an assumption.
  • North American listings. Foodservice buyers in the US and Canada commonly reference NSF International and UL standards for equipment. Senlis has not documented NSF or UL listings. Check what your customers, inspectors and tender documents require before ordering; this can rule the route out for some channels.
  • Performance data arrives late. Volume, power draw and noise for a custom width exist only after engineering.

For a distributor building a private-label range, the first list often outweighs the second. For a single restaurant replacing one failed unit next week, a stock domestic unit is usually the faster answer.

What does a custom-size worktop cost?

Senlis does not publish prices, MOQs or price ranges for any product line, including refrigerated worktops. Pricing is quoted per project. Request a quote for your model, quantity, and destination market, and include your slot measurements so the quote reflects the custom size rather than the catalog unit.

PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES

Q: Does Senlis make a 48-inch refrigerated worktop?

A: Not as a catalog model. The published worktop line is 1800 mm (about 71 inches) wide. A 48-inch width is possible only as a custom-size OEM order, with feasibility confirmed during quotation.

Q: Can the 1800 mm worktop fit a 60-inch space?

A: No. It is about 276 mm (roughly 11 inches) wider than a 60-inch slot.

Q: What are the dimensions of the SLS-GFC01 in inches?

A: 1800 × 600 × 800 mm converts to approximately 70.9 × 23.6 × 31.5 inches (W × D × H).

Q: Which voltages are available for export to North America?

A: Senlis offers 110 V, 220 V and 380 V configurations with US, EU or UK plug standards. Specify the destination voltage and plug type in your inquiry.

Q: Will a custom 48-inch unit have the same temperature range as the catalog model?

A: Request the engineered spec sheet before ordering. The catalog ranges (chill 2–8 °C; freeze −15 to 0 °C or −18 to 0 °C) apply to the 1800 mm models, and a custom cabinet’s refrigeration system is sized separately.

Q: Which certifications do Senlis worktops carry?

A: CE, RoHS and ISO 9001. Confirm any additional market-specific listings with the factory before ordering.
